Hyatt Golf Cart Attendant in CHARLESTON, South Carolina

Summary: The Golf Cart Attendant often provides the first point of contact for golf guests and is responsible for creating an excellent first impression. S/he is responsible for upkeep and cleanliness of the golf carts, as well as assisting guests with wiping down clubs, balls, etc. The Golf Cart Attendant will maintain the AAA Four Diamond standards.

The Golf Cart Attendant shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Essential job Functions:

  • Greets and welcomes guests upon arrival

  • Unload clubs, cleans and places in bag drop area or cart

  • Wipe down clubs and loads them into their cars once guests are finished

  • Clean carts when guest return

  • Checks carts for damages, if damaged, reports immediately to Golf Shop

  • Ensures all carts are accounted for and plugged in prior to leaving for the day

  • Ensures grounds area is clean and prepared for the next day’s operations

  • Keeps range and practice area clean of golf balls, baskets, trash, etc.

  • Washes golf balls, supplies clean golf balls to ball machine. Cleans machine and surrounding areas

  • Cleans and organizes rental clubs, reports any missing or damaged clubs immediately to Head Professional

  • Keeps back room and cart area neat and clean

  • Communicates tee sheet changes to player’s assistants

  • Continually supplies carts to the staging area, ensuring all carts have a pencil and scorecard

  • Contacts appropriate party, if necessary, when a guest problem is reported

  • Provides general resort information for guests

  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Wild Dunes Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest

  • Resolves guest problems and is empowered to act in absence of manager

  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events

  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information

  • Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests

  • Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude

  • Communicates all pertinent information to the Golf team

  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.

  • Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment.

  • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Wild Dunes Resort dress code standards.

  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times

Colleague is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience & Education:

  • High school educationrequired

  • Prior hospitality experiencepreferred

  • At least one-year customerservice experience preferred

  • Knowledge of the game of golfpreferred

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in avariety of weather conditions (rain, wind, cold, sun & heat);

  • Must be able to stand &walk throughout the day, including on uneven surfaces;

  • Must be able to frequentlylift, push, pull & carry up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs;

  • Must be able to bend, squat,& twist on an occasional basis

  • Must be able to performsimple grasping, squeezing, and repetitive hand & arm movementsfrequently; and fine manipulation occasionally.
