Hyatt Senior Full Stack Developer in CHICAGO, Illinois

Description:

We are seeking Full Stack Developers to join the team responsible for the Hyatt.com homepage, and each of our more than 800 global properties. The team’s responsibilities also include any tools and infrastructure necessary for providing solutions for communicating the unique experiences offered by our hotels to our guests and Hyatt associates. These responsibilities include architecture, methodology, tools and processes, and delivery management for the development and support of Hyatt.com, mobile apps, and new apps created in an internal startup environment.

The ideal candidate is someone who is skilled and passionate about software engineering – specifically front-end and/or back-end web development, and someone who is eager to fill in the gaps in their toolbox. You will be led and mentored by Senior Full Stack Engineers and Architects in a new team built from the ground up, focused on continuous delivery. You will work within the Global Digital and Technology organization at Hyatt’s corporate office in Chicago. As a member of this team, the Full Stack Developer will provide input as we partner with all business functions to continue to build a digital culture at Hyatt.

You will work on a cross functional team encompassing product, design and engineering to plan and negotiate iterative development cycles in an agile environment. The team also collaborates with the Operations team to build infrastructure and care for Hyatt.com and associated properties in production, as Tier 3 support. They apply DevOps tools and culture to deliver software to production early and often, with highly automated and reliable procedures.

A partial, unordered list of desired skills includes Node, JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5, Jenkins, React and/or Vue, and web components.

The primary job responsibilities are:

  • Analyze requirements

  • Develop front-end software

  • Develop back-end software

  • Develop automated tests

  • Develop automated deployment process

  • Provide Tier 3 production support

  • Participate in architecture reviews and technology standards definition

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in a full-time development role. Academic projects and/or side projects may be considered as well.

  • B.S. preferred, in Computer Science or related discipline

  • Software Engineering, Architecture, Technical Operations

  • Strong Agile experience preferred

  • Preferred candidate is passionate about travel and the Hospitality industry
