Hyatt Senior Network Manager in CHICAGO, Illinois

Hyatt is currently seeking to add a Sr Network Manager to support the global Hyatt Network team. The role provides daily challenges and no day is the same as the next. This role has both operational and strategic responsibilities, along with interaction with customers. This role will be responsible to plan, coordinate, implement and oversee the delivery and support of services by the network team to our customers and partners worldwide on a variety of platforms and vendors, including Cisco, F5, Arista in a hybrid LAN/Could (Azure/AWS) network. This role will be a technical in nature, with HR direct reports. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in network technologies and someone who can partner with customers and vendors to keep current technology changes. The goal will be to ensure the team consistently delivers a high-quality, stable product for customers.


The duties and responsibilities of the Network Team Lean will include:

  • Design, implement, oversee and support new and existing services for customers and business partners

  • Improve performance and availability of existing networks and services

  • Research, document, publish, maintain network policies and procedures

  • Work closely with project teams to increase quality of network builds

  • Work with Hyatt management to improve process, procedures and reduce inefficiencies.

  • Out of the box thinking – text book solutions are not always the best answer

  • Manage, mentor, train and assist team members



Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or related field

  • Advanced knowledge of routing protocols, encapsulation, switching, firewalls (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, GRE, ASA, VPN)

  • 7 years’ experience hands on support and troubleshooting of networks

  • 4 years’ experience with design and implementation on complex networks

  • 2 years’ experience successfully managing /leading technical teams

  • Understanding of network management, security and monitoring

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexible to work on/off shift to meet company, customer and internal requirements

  • Detailed documentation skill set


  • CCNP or similar experience

  • Knowledgeable on Load balancers, SDWAN and VOIP technologies

  • Cloud networks (Azure, AWS or similar)
