The Cook II will check quality of finished food products, utilize proper knife skills, and ensure efficient preparation methods and procedures on a daily basis. Candidate should have professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures and should be able to work single-stations in the kitchen. Additionally, this position will actively handle the preparation of braised food, grilling, broiling, blanching, cooking, and sauté items. Responsibilities include supporting training needs for new hires, preparing daily specials, ensuring the proper amount for needed food preparation, receiving products from the storeroom, utilizing the proper storage procedures, and playing an active role in the prevention of accidents. The ideal candidates must be passionate & excited about food with a desire to pursue leadership roles in the culinary profession. This position reports directly to the Culinary Lead, Sous Chef or the Chef de Cuisine, and will support Cook 1’s training and development.

At least 2 years of experience with working in all kitchens, such as the cold kitchen, restaurants, banquets, and the butcher area.
Ideal candidate will have hotel cooking experience and/or culinary degree
Pastry experience preferred
Good communication skills
Ability to stand for long periods of time
A high motivation level, commitment, meeting challenges, and the desire to reach and achieve higher positions
Requires moderate supervision and training
Able to multi-task and work as part of a team
