Hyatt Loss Prevention Manager in ISLE OF PALMS, South Carolina

Description:

The Assitant Director of Security is responsible for the oversight of the safety and security of the hotel.Performs the daily functions of the department to ensure protection of property assets, colleagues, guests and property. Maintains logs, certifications and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures. Ensures safety protocols are maintained within the property and follows emergency procedures and accident and fire prevention procedures.This person will respond to guest and employee emergencies, complete incident reports, supervise and assist with training the security staff.

Essential job FUNCTIONS:

  • Patrols and monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to local authorities.

  • Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds.

  • Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.

  • After business hours, checks doors, offices, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.

  • Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property.

  • Reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.

  • Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.

  • Respond to accidents and assist guests/employees during emergency situations

  • Defuse guest disturbances and escort individuals from the property if necessary

  • Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and facilitate interviews with relevant parties

  • Complete required shift reports and maintain confidentiality of all loss prevention

  • Previous Security experience preferred.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Must have valid Driver’s license and meet Resort driving standards

  • Must be able to drive guests safely in extreme weather conditions (e.g., rain, wind, fog)

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.

  • Authoritative verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.

  • Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.

  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbal and written

Working CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs without assistance; and assist with moving objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds.

  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently, along with occasional squeezing & overhead reaching.

  • Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances

  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis.

  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (e.g., rain, wind, heat, cold);

  • Must be able to climb stairs occasionally, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (e.g., rain, wind, heat, cold).

  • This role requires compliance with quality assurance expectations and standards.

  • You may be required to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.

  • Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.

  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
