Hyatt Server - Events (On-Call) in ISLE OF PALMS, South Carolina
SUMMARY: The Banquet Server is responsible for service of all banquets and banquet related food and beverage operations.S/he must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing of food and beverages. The Banquet Server will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond Standards.
The Banquet Server shall always strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!
Essential job FUNCTIONS:
Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
Performs all guest contact activities such as serving food and beverage, responding to guest’s inquiries in cordial, efficient and professional manner
Ensures food and beverage is served while maintaining a consistent presentation and proper temperature
Delivers food and beverage items to guests
Offers product knowledge of food and beverage to guests
Provides general resort information for guests
Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Wild Dunes Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest
Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
Communicates all pertinent information to the banquets team
Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.
Follows Banquet Event Orders with strong attention to detail. Includes assignments for each portion of the work shift; including setup, reception, event, tear-down and side work.
Attends appropriate resort, division and department meetings
Ensures proper handling, cleaning and sanitation of equipment, china, glass and silver.
Maintain front and back of the house in clean and orderly fashion.
Follows through on lost and found procedures. No articles shall be removed from occupied rooms.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff when food ordering expressing any special needs.
Reports to work on time and according to posted schedule, maintains accurate time records and follows proper standards for issuance of rooms
Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Wild Dunes Resort dress code standards.
Colleague is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.
Experience & Education:
Six months Customer Service experience preferred
Previous Food and Beverage experience preferred
High School Education required
Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must be able to work well under pressure
Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
Must be highly detail orientated
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must have excellent listening skills
Must possesses excellent communication skills
Must always ensure a teamwork environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and colleagues.
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Must be knowledgeable and familiar with food and beverage industry.
Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.

Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, sun, heat);
Must be able to work indoors or outside;
Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day,
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs;
Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull frequently;
Must be able to climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis;
Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, squeezing, overhead reaching occasionally
