Hyatt Operations Financial Analyst (Productivity Manager) in KOLOA, Hawaii


The Operations Financial Analyst at each property will be responsible for creating, implementing and sustaining the labor strategy of the hotel in conjunction with the Leadership Committee and GM in order to optimize productivity and labor. The Operations Financial Analyst is responsible for determining optimal mix of volume drivers to forecast labor based on current trends and historical data. They use the KRONOS scheduling tools to ensure that labor hours are forecasted and scheduled appropriately based on volume, as well as analytics tools to engage department managers in the labor forecasting process to staff departments effectively and demonstrate a savings in the overall cost of labor at the property.


Performance (25%)

  • Develop labor management strategy for hotel focusing on improving productivity
  • Drive change in business practice to support labor model through changes in methods and staffing
  • Collaborate with operations to derive all inputs of volume drivers (i.e. rooms occupied, banquet covers, etc.) and outputs of schedules for operations
  • Has oversight for KRONOS Labor Management and Scheduling System for the Hotel
  • Serves as the central resource for all labor efficiency initiatives
  • Implement initiatives to meet labor targets while maintaining consideration of the impacts on guest satisfaction scores (NPS) and the colleague experience
  • Drives management thinking to improve upon labor strategies to find a balance in financial efficiencies, colleague experience and customer satisfaction
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with hotel managers

Implementation and Standards (25%)

  • Ensure adopted best practices and method changes for each operational department are maintained by routinely observing activities, documenting process changes, and reporting deviations to managers for improvement
  • Rotate throughout each department to document processes to determine the most efficient way of covering the labor needs of the department
  • Determine when a new or updated labor standard is required; makes recommendations to appropriate Senior Leadership and works with KRONOS central team to implement change
  • Provide guidance to managers on colleague availability and hours of operation
  • Responsible for hotel compliance with Hyatt Labor Management Standards
  • Implement and adjust Labor Standards and Traffic patterns to improve productivity and comply with corporate initiatives

Reporting and Analytics (20%)

  • Analyzes and reports on metrics provided by the KRONOS Analytics tool
  • Analyze the labor metrics and report the findings to the Leadership Committee and General Manager for support and guidance in driving change
  • Daily review KPI’s and use those to improve hotel performance
  • Closely monitor changes in productivity to understand the impact of scheduling decisions on hotel performance and provides recommendations accordingly
  • Clearly communicate strategic vision and objectives to hotel on how to drive change and improve performance

Key Meetings (10%)

  • Lead Weekly Schedule review of previous week, next week and MTD performance of forecasted labor targets with department managers
  • Lead daily labor accountability meetings
  • Actively participate in regular conference calls with corporate leaders and peers to discuss challenges and share new best practices and/or method changes
  • Annually attend Operations Financial Analyst training to further personal development
  • Network with other Operations Financial Analysts in region to share best practices and method changes

Planning (10%)

  • Review volume forecast, adjust as necessary, and enter into KRONOS
  • Produce Labor Forecast (hours) and Schedules (shifts) for hotel on a weekly and/or biweekly basis
  • Partner with finance to produce annual labor budget

People Development (10%)

  • Train new operations managers on the KRONOS scheduling process , labor standards, and best practices
  • Train department managers to optimize schedules


  • 4 years hotel operations experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills, strong analytical capabilities
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to drive change and gain leadership support
