For us, our back of house should provide the same quality of service to our colleagues as we do for our guests in front of house. You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of Human Resources in a generalist role to include mainly Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance and Absence Management, as well as promoting and living our values.

You will quickly build rapport with our Managers and feel confident providing consultancy, advice, coaching and guidance to them when dealing with their teams across a wide variety of job functions, from Housekeeping Attendants and Accountants to Chefs and Sales Managers, at all levels. You will also be a resource for all colleagues.

There will be the opportunity to get involved in day to day projects and initiatives such as our Colleague Experience Survey and Great Places to Work, for example.

This role provides the chance for experience in a diverse and exciting range of HR activities, from organising a colleague party for 400 employees, to advising on disciplinary and grievance issues.

You will be one of three HR Managers across the UK, and will report to the Area Director of HR, who is also based at The Churchill, working within an energetic and sociable team of 5, which includes a Learning Manager for the UK and other generalist HR roles.

Qualifications:

Qualification

You will have in-depth HR generalist practical operational knowledge of applying HR practices, policies and employment law in a fast paced environment, ideally within hospitality or retail. A graduate, you will be planning to, or already be studying for, your CIPD. With an eye for detail and excellent organisation skills, y ou will be a strong team player with a positive and collaborative approach. Your communication skills will be excellent and you will be able to manage stakeholders at varying levels. Your confidence and assurance will enable you to be an effective negotiator and able to affect change and behaviours within HR and influence at all levels across the company.

You will know how to measure and use KPI’s and interpret and communicate results in order to help the company achieve its business goals.

You will have a sound knowledge of HR systems, specific experience of Fourth or PeopleSoft will be an advantage.
