About the role - HR Manager

Our heart of house should provide the same quality of service to our colleagues as we do for our guests in front of house.

You will:

  • Drive and manage the day to day operation of Human Resources, at Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill, in a generalist role to include Employee Engagement, Relations, Performance and Absence Management, as well as promoting and living our values.

  • Quickly build rapport with our Leaders and feel confident providing consultancy, advice, coaching and guidance to them when dealing with their teams across a wide variety of job functions, from Housekeeping Attendants and Accountants to Chefs and Sales Managers, at all levels. You will also be a resource for all colleagues.

  • Focus on Colleague Engagement for an employee population of approximately 250 colleagues, through promoting and living our values through team building and social activities.

  • Oversee Employee Relations, including; Disciplinary, Grievance, Mediation, Performance and Absence Management.

  • Handle coaching, counselling, advising Colleagues and Managers at all levels.

  • Be responsible for recruitment of various roles at all levels and across all departments within the business.

  • Manage day to day HR budgets and, in conjunction with department leaders, reforecasting for staffing across the hotel.

  • London experience is preferred.

You will be one of five HR leaders across the UK, and will report to the Area Director of HR, with a dotted line to the Hotel Manager, both based at The Churchill. This role is part of an energetic and sociable HR team, which includes other generalist HR roles and an Area Learning Manager.

About you:

  • You will already be a HR Manager or equivalent and have in-depth HR generalist practical operational knowledge of applying HR practices, policies and employment law in a fast paced, customer focused environment.

  • A graduate, with an eye for detail and excellent organisation skills, you will be a strong team player with a positive, collaborative and hands on approach.

  • Your communication skills will be excellent and you will be able to manage a variety of stakeholders of different demographics and with diverse needs, using technology and social media as appropriate.

  • Your confidence and assurance will enable you to be an effective negotiator and able to affect change and behaviours within HR and influence at all levels across the company.

  • You will know how to measure and use KPI’s and interpret and communicate results in order to help the company achieve its business goals.

  • You will have previous experience of using software/systems within a Colleague’s lifecycle. Specific experience of Fourth or PeopleSoft would be advantageous.

  • An empathetic leader, you will be used to getting things done through people and will have experience of managing a team.
