About the Role

As a Groups & Events Sales Manager, you are accountable for the functioning of the Groups and Events Sales function within Hyatt Regency and Hyatt House Manchester.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  1. Creating memorable, well executed events for a wide range of clientele by planning and organizing with clients with an aim of creating repeat guests.

  2. Handle the planning of event enquiries, (including corporate, group and social bookings), quoting hotel rate information, planning of all details in conjunction with the event and liaising with 3rd party suppliers where required.

  3. To send contracts to the client on receiving confirmation of a booking, along with the company terms & conditions

  4. To communicate effectively with the operational departments to ensure a seamless experience for the customer.

  5. Conduct site inspections and meet with clients to discuss their requirements (entertaining of clients may be required in the evenings and weekends).

  6. Accountable to act in a professional and informative manner ensuring product and competitor knowledge is current at all times, ensuring good working relationships with key customers.

  7. Providing guidance and leadership to the Event Sales team with regards to event planning and training.

  8. To work with an entrepreneurial mind-set, strategically looking at potential business opportunities.

  9. Regularly monitors and reviews all prospect, tentative and lost business enquires with the aim of driving increased conversion levels.

  10. Reviews and improves team performance through identifying training needs, mentoring and coaching

Qualifications:

Ideally you have already gained work experience in the same or similar role, preferably within a prestigious hotel environment.

You are:

  • Passionate about creating memorable events for your customers

  • Motivated to change and grow your business

  • A knowledgeable & experienced leader within markets including corporate, sports & social

  • Determined to meet your goals and targets and can quickly build relationships with colleagues and clients

  • WIll have previous experience of leading a team and have excellent communication skills

  • Knowledge and experience of managing the sports sector and the Manchester market is desirable

  • Experience of forecasting, budgeting and monthly reporting
