As we build a vibrant, passionate and fun-loving team, we are seeking a well-experienced Assistant Pastry Chef who will oversee the day to day operations of the bakery Kitchen and Events (Banquets).
Grand Hyatt Manila will feature 461 luxurious rooms and suites, a fitness centre and spa. F&B options include an all-day dining, international, and signature restaurant, lounge, entertainment complex, and state of the art event spaces that provide an abundance of culinary delights.
We are seeking talented and experienced Assistant Pastry Chef who can effectively accomplish kitchen and admin responsibilities such as: overseeing food preparation and logistics, managing an efficient kitchen team, diligently monitoring inventory of food and kitchen supplies, ordering, as well as implementing policies and procedures. The right candidate should share our passion for providing bold and memorable moments thru our F&B offerings that reflect the hotel’s focus on quality and creativity, all served in grand style.
As a pre-opening team member, you will be involved in preparing the hotel for a successful openingand leading a team of inspired and well trained chefs. You are expected to ensure that hygiene standards are adhered too at all times, and that you will successfully operate the kitchen and your section in the absence of the Chef de Cuisine, you must possess the initiative to resolve guest complaints, and have a good command of the English language.
* Education: Ideally with a relevant degree or diploma in Culinary or Hospitality management. * Professional Experience in Hospitality: Progressive career in Bakery / pastry kitchen gained over the last 6 years, 2 year of which would have been spent as a Chef de partie or sous chef. Ideally with an apprenticeship or professional diploma in Food Production with pastry specialisation. Minimum 2 years work experience as Pastry Chef, or Assistant Pastry Chef in larger operation. Good practical, operational and adequate administrative skills with a flair for creativity are a must. * Leadership Experience: Demonstrated skills in leading a diverse team with varying degrees of experience and talents. Able to teach and inspire team members to be their best every day.
