About the Role

As the Assistant Manager – Housekeeping, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, including training, supervision, and coaching of all attendants and Team Leaders. You will ensure the efficient running of the department in line with Hyatt International’s corporate strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations by providing an excellent and consistent level of service.

Working in a team of 30, you will support the Housekeeping Manager in supervising and managing the day-to-day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and assist in the preparation and revision of the Housekeeping Operations.

  • Preparation of staff rosters and allocations of staff.

  • Controlling manning levels in relation to occupancy requirement, service quality, and cost.

  • Supervision and coordination of the Housekeeping Attendants by making sure that all services offered in the Housekeeping Department are always available, and are carried out with the utmost efficiency and courtesy.

  • Ensuring the department’s operational budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are controlled and expenditure approved.

  • Handling of guest complaints.

  • Conducting inspections of corridors, service areas, pantries, staircases and public areas to ensure proper cleaning.

  • Work closely with the Front Office and Engineering department to block rooms and other areas for maintenance.

  • Ensure all associates report to work punctually and wearing the correct uniform.



  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Assistant Manager – Housekeeping or a Team Leader – Housekeeping in a large hotel operation (experience in a five star hotel is advantageous)

  • Good leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, train and motivate team members

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills along with strong service recovery skills

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and keep calm under pressure

  • The flexibility to work on rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and flexible team environment
