A key member of HSSC Payroll, the Payroll Specialist will assist hotel Human Resources departments as well as hotel management with payroll activities. The ideal candidate will work with limited supervision within defined guidelines. This position is responsible for coordinating various activities to ensure zero to gross payroll is balanced and processed for hotels accurately and timely. The SS HOP Specialist will work with limited supervision within defined guidelines. This job does not supervise others.

Essential Functions: * Knowledge of time and attendance principles, practices, regulations, and procedures * Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. * Document analysis and operation requirements related to pay
* Reviews, analyzes and checks reports for accuracy and makes necessary adjustments or corrections within established procedures * Works within audit policies related to pay ensuring legal requirements are met for compliance, as necessary * Collaborate with cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization * Participates in the development of new procedures * Skill in preparing detailed reports/correspondence of a technical nature pertaining to time and attendance/payroll issues * Skill in preparing detailed reports/correspondence of a technical nature pertaining to time and attendance/payroll issues * Regular attendance is expected based on schedule and business needs. * Participation in employee events, onsite meetings, hotel visits and industry conferences is expected * Work well with others at a variety of levels within the organization * Sunday-Thursday 7am-8pm with occasional additional weekend work Sunday-Thursday

Qualifications:
Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Payroll, Accounting, Business or Finance.
  • Working knowledge of DOL, Federal, State and Local labor laws.
  • Ability to work in paperless environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25%
  • Experience in Shared Services environment a plus.
    Educations:

  • Bachelors in Accounting, Business or Finance (preferred)

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
