Hyatt Revenue Cluster Manager in MUMBAI, India


§ Attends regular meeting and briefings as required to ensure flow of communication between the Revenue Department and other departments in the hotel.

§ Alerts the General Manager of any potential situation that would result in loss of business and / or revenues due to rate deployment, group blocks or events that are not producing room nights.


§ Analyse revenue generation trends of the hotel in order to identify critical areas for Revenue Enhancement and maximization.

§ Develops and implements integrated solutions which enable the hotel to leverage increased profitability through Business Intelligence and Revenue Management practices, focusing on revenue engineering at all profit centres of the hotel and improving efficiency in cost control.

§ Monthly and weekly trends and reforecast for Rooms, assist with Food and Beverage and Events reforecast.

§ Assists in managing costs based on key performance indicators.

§ Ensures that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to record keeping including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information related to the position are adhered to.

Business Management

§ Assists the Revenue departments in maximising revenue and yield through business trend analysis, highlighting areas of opportunity and ensuring delivery and maintenance of optimum data mining, revenue management, pricing and distribution strategies.

§ Actively participate in the formulation and submission of the Business Plan and Strategic Plans.

§ Actively participate in the formulation and submission of the Re-forecast on a monthly basis and updating of the Strategic Plans.

§ Assists the Division Heads and the management team to have a structured approach to strategic business management making use of all internal and external tools available to the hotel and providing standard analytical reporting to ensure the adopted strategies are measurable (i.e. promotion tracking).

§ Undertakes in-depth business analysis of each revenue generating department, making recommendations concerning the ideal customer market / base, overall strategy and promotional tactics.


§ Assists with inventory, forecasting and rate deployment methods of both FIT and group business, to ensure optimal strategies and controls are in place to minimise displacement and maximise total hotel revenues.

§ Monitors and provides feedback on the hotel’s effective use of Hyatt systems, tools and procedures in areas of business intelligence, revenue management, inventory management and dynamic pricing to maximise Hyatt’s competitive advantage in the marketplace.

§ Manages the re-engineering and enforcement of business processes in all areas to ensure data cleanliness and data integrity. Conducts training with employees at all profit centres to ensure correct procedures are in place at all system input points to ensure the availability and validity of data for analysis.**

§ Provides the hotel Marketing Team with business intelligence based on Cognos data mining solutions and secondary resources (PMS reports), Delphi Reports.

§ Ensures the accuracy and validity of the data presented in the Cognos cubes.

§ Provides the hotel with external market intelligence using tools such as Competitive Intelligence, Rate View / Phaser,, access to a Global Distribution System (i.e. Gallileo Focalpoint / MySabre), Internet web sites and corporate resources.

§ Constantly develops and updates the hotel’s “ideal” customer segmentation that leads to the highest overall profitability and to make recommendations based on the findings.

§ Works in close collaboration with the Marketing Communication Manager to ensure the chosenmarketingcommunicationsare consistent with thehotel’stargeted customer’sprofile,preferences, and behaviours.

§ Offers quantitative informationtoMarketing Communicationsregarding the targeted market’s size, yield, booking, past promotion results, etc, for planning and ROI calculation.

§ Optimises forecasting through the use of Business Intelligence and Revenue Management applications (IDeaS software, Delphi etc).

§ Ensures optimal inventory controls are in place for FIT / Group and for the hotel as a whole.

§ Provides strategic, critical input for the weekly yield meeting. Monitors and constantly adapts pricing strategies in the context of competitor strategies and market fluctuations.

§ Defines discounting strategies and adapt product packaging according to customer needs and consistency of product delivery. Provides statistical inputs on promotions and marketing initiatives.

§ Ensures distribution through all channels is in line with Hyatt International Distribution strategy and closely monitor business shifts between channels (Channel Management).

§ Ensures Dynamic Pricing Strategies (DPS) are increasing the hotel’s overall sales and profitability and to review and assist in the re-design of the pricing strategies if necessary.

§ Ensure that the SEO key word search is regularly reviewed, and provide feedback to the division. Assist in E-commerce strategies for the hotel.

Food & Beverage

§ Assess competition data trends.

§ Study demand patterns and assist in ROI analysis of promotions.

§ Review current data set and set standard data collection and analysis processes.

§ Participate in the Strategic Plan process and assist F&B to prepare them. Set review-meeting targets and review with the General Manager.

§ Establish baseline performance for each outlet.

§ Initiate revenue management process for restaurant revenue management.

§ Assist and review product mix and pricing as per competition trends – Menu Engineering.


§ Ensure business decisions are based on “Total Revenue” contribution.

§ Set standard data collection and analysis processes.

§ Participate in the Strategic Plan process, and assist Events department to prepare them. Set review-meeting targets and review with the General Manager.

§ Conduct relevant catering business analysis and recommendation for optimum utilization of meeting space.

§ Utilize Net Delphi and conduct relevant data analysis. Prepare relevant reports that help operations to understand business better.

§ Initiate function space revenue management.

§ Set pricing guidelines and group controls.

§ Review group processes.

Other Operating Departments

§ Participate in the Strategic Plan process and assist SPA department to prepare them. Set review meeting targets and review with the General Manager


§ Making sure that he/she wears the correct uniform and maintains a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s grooming standards.

§ Supports the implementation of The People Brand, demonstrating and reinforcing Hyatt’s Values and Culture Characteristics.

§ Supports the implementation of changes as a result of the Employee Engagement Survey.

Other Duties

§ Be familiar with the technical set up of the local Cognos solution, general dataflow, database structure and monthly extract procedure.

§ Be familiar with the escalation procedure in case of support issues with the local Cognos solution.

§ Be familiar with the technical set upand usagesfor all toolsincluding revenue management system (where available)throughout the strategic marketing process.

§ Maintains strong, professional relationships with relevant representatives from competitor hotels and other organisations.

§ Responds to changes in the Marketing function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.

§ Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.

§ Reads the hotel's Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.

§ Attends training sessions and meetings as and when required.
