Hyatt Rooms Manager in NEW YORK CITY, New York

Description:

The Rooms Manager serves as the property Manager on Duty oversees all property operations, ensuring that the highest levels of hospitality and service are provided. They represent property management in resolving any guest related situation and have overall responsibility for the strategic operation of the hotel’s rooms department. In this role, he/she will oversee, and ultimately be responsible for, the successful daily operation of Front Office, Concierge, Guest Services and Housekeeping, while ensuring brand standard service and product is maintained.

Qualifications:

Respond to a wide variety of internal and external guest requests by accurately assessing their needs and adding personal recommendations to achieve maximum satisfaction while complying with all Hyatt Hotels and Resorts’ policies.

Direct team members to perform the following duties: welcome and register hotel guests, explain the accommodations and establish credit or method of payment, check guest out of the hotel, prepare and explain the folio, clean the public areas and the guest rooms

Interview, train and schedule team members

Properly complete payroll and all associated responsibilities for time off requests

Conduct Performance Evaluations and disciplines team members when needed

Coordinate arrivals, departures and billing requirements with Sales and Catering Department

Block rooms for arrival and ensure any discrepancies are resolved. Review daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of VIPs, Return Guests, and Groups

Monitor and assess revenue opportunities for the hotel and maximize red date conversion

Drive all Key Performance index scores relating to service

Establish training and accountability with the team to achieve high results above benchmarks

Assure that all financial and credit procedures are followed

Assign housekeeping boards to designated team members. Maintain accurate records of assignments for security

Inspect guest rooms, public areas (interior and exterior), and office spaces to ensure cleanliness utilizing designated checklist

Order, stock and maintain proper inventory, following budgetary guidelines. Complies with the hotel's purchasing procedures

Take action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and well-being of hotel guests and team members

Respond swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency or safety situation

Maintain knowledge of union, state and city regulations

Flexible schedule. Some overnight shifts will be required

Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving. Review status of assignments/PM reports and any follow-up action necessary to individual departments in addition to ensuring the house is set for maximum sell each night
