Hyatt Senior Group Sales Manager in NEW YORK CITY, New York

The Senior Group Sales Manager is an engaging dynamic sales professional with a true passion for hospitality in the lifestyle luxury hotel world. The candidate is a top producer with highly established relationships in their respective markets, and have demonstrated through their purpose and performance a commitment and expertise in direct sales.

Responsibilities include selling the domestic and international corporate group market segment with an emphasis on Finance, Retail, Legal, Consulting and Tech industries. Scope of work includes managing inquiry demand and prospecting efforts for room blocks with and without meeting space, as well as selling the Downtown Manhattan destination.

Responsible for strategic account development, partnering with Hyatt Global Sales, conducting site inspections and client presentations/webinars, solicits and generates new and existing business opportunities. Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilizes Cvent and other third party engines and is proficient with Hyatt Operating systems.

The Senior Sales Manager will also participate in internal manager/departmental meetings as well external pre-conference meetings with clients. The Senior Sales Manager also works closely as a colleague with the sales, events and operations team to ensure all aspects of the corporate group market are managed effectively. Assist and support the sales team and Director of Sales & Marketing in maintaining existing business clientele relationships, ensuring maximum profitability for the hotel and quality service for the guests.

Minimum of (3) three years previous hotel sales experience in a lifestyle/boutique luxury NYC hotel.

College degree.

Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.

Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.

Ability to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculations.

Knowledge of travel industry, current market trends and economic factors.

Basic skill in development and delivery of sales presentations.

Ability to deal with internal and external customers and staff, collect accurate information and to resolve conflicts.

Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.

Ability to travel for work, and be adaptive to work flexible schedules to include AM, PM, Weekends & Holidays.

Computer knowledge in Windows environment and previous experience with automated property management system, especially OPERA.

Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.


Ability to communicate in a second language.
