What Does a VIP Host/Lead Reservationist Do?

The VIP host/lead reservationist is responsible for tending to the needs of a company’s very important clients and our regular guests. They are assigned with coordinating with multiple teams including sales, restaurant & bar. They assist in overseeing the Host department on property and managing day to day activities of reservation needs. They are the main point of contact for guests looking to make special arrangements, NOT already covered by the hotel sales team; (for example cabana bookings or small birthday party arrangements in the restaurant).

  • The VIP Host/Lead Reservationist role also includes building customer loyalty and good will on behalf of his/her company; and ultimately, his/her duties will help the organization increase in revenue generation.

  • He/She makes clients feel welcomed and comfortable, leading to the client taking more interest in the organization. She is required to improve on customer satisfaction.

  • They are the first contact the client makes with the organization; therefore, they are expected to greet them warmly as they come in and also to escort or direct them to the specific department of the hotel where they want to visit, (i.e. The Moon’s Daughter, Landrace or Cenote).

  • The position is expected to lead the customers to their tables (or direct them to others who will) and also make the menu available to them. Whenever possible they will introduce the guests to the servers.

  • Make reservations for cabana rentals, regular dining, special events & bottle service in all outlets.

  • Secure deposits from guests when applicable.

  • She will see to it that the personnel are courteous, efficient, and fast in service delivery.

  • Oversee & train hosts/hostesses in all outlets.

  • Possibly schedule for host/hostesses in all outlets

  • Make calls to confirm reservations daily.

  • She is also saddled with the responsibility of determining the appropriate seating position for clients, depending on their number.

  • May require his/her to interview personnel to be employed in the host position.

  • May be required to provide assistance in menu planning for the restaurant or club (what items guests are requesting). They can be involved in scheduling work hours too.

  • May perform also include collecting payment from clients for cabana or table bookings and giving accounts to appropriate departments at the end of his/her shift.

  • Welcome guests to the organizational and also bid them good bye when clients are leaving

  • When possible act as a liaison between guests & management with complaints made by clients in efficient manner

  • Ensure clients enjoy themselves throughout their stay within the premises

  • Inform guests about details of the services provided

  • Get adequately informed about facilities in the organization

  • Liaise with the supervisor, and also provide the later with detailed report about events and activities

  • Keep clients happy all through their stay to ensure they come back for more patronage

  • Provide clients with their personal attention to ensure they have the best of the amenities and satisfactions the organization has to offer.
