Hyatt Colleague Experience (Human Resources) Supervisor in SAN DIEGO, California

Description:

The primary responsibilities of the Colleague Experience Supervisor involve meeting and exceeding the needs of our colleagues and leaders to inspire them to deliver an outstanding experience for our guests and for each other. This role will assist and educate our colleagues on internal Hyatt systems and processes, produce colleague communications, coordinate colleague appreciation events/perks, and assist with onboarding our new colleagues to the Hyatt family. Additional priorities may include assisting the Colleague Experience team with all other areas, such as benefit administration, recruitment, safety, and learning/development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Help deliver an inspirational on-boarding experience for new colleagues

  • Coordinate new hire paperwork and processes related to ensuring a new hire is set up for success (i.e. name tag, locker, uniform, time clock registration, etc.).

  • Ensure department schedule, tour and introductions occur to welcome our new colleague into our Hyatt Family

  • Ensure activities and events are reflective of our culture and that they demonstrate Hyatt’s purpose and values

  • Plan, execute and enhance property-specific events and perks

  • Create fun and rewarding Hyatt Community events, monitor and track activities

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for our colleagues

  • Maintain a space for colleagues to relax and refresh

  • Serve as a resource and support for colleague engagement initiatives

  • Update Back Office Board, Strandvision, Hyatt Check-In & Colleague Connect

  • Collaborate with leaders to drive colleague recognition programs

  • Gain insight through empathy interviews to reward people in unique and creative ways

  • Help execute colleague communications programs

  • Enhance our colleague experience by working with teams to address concerns quickly and efficiently

  • Share and respond to any associate relations issues/concerns as well as complimentary comments

  • Point of contact for:

  • Benefit inquiries (Vacation, Comp Rooms, Education Assistance)

  • Wage verifications

  • Unemployment Claims

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to empathize and inspire others

  • Experience with change and conflict management

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills

  • Refined verbal and written communication

  • Bi-lingual a plus

  • Previous hospitality and/or customer service experience preferred

  • Previous Human Resources experience preferred, 1 – 2 years
