Hyatt Assistant Director of Revenue in SEATTLE, Washington

Join us for an incredible opportunity to be a part of our Revenue Team as an Assistant Director of Revenue. The Assistant Director of Revenue will support “ A Seattle Collection ”, a multi-property cluster comprised of Grand Hyatt Seattle, Hyatt at Olive 8 and Hyatt Regency Seattle.

Assist the Area Director for Revenue Management in all areas of pricing, distribution and inventory management. Assist with the execution of strategies and tactics to maximize overall hotel revenue for rooms and food and beverage through the implementation of effective pricing and distribution strategies. Manage and oversee revenue management analytic functions, which include but not limited to, collecting, interpreting, and presenting complex data to convert into actionable steps based on current trends or areas in need of improvement. Support efforts in positioning our hotels to out-perform direct competitors by winning market shares for each properties designated set with rational and competitive pricing, distribution strategy backed by targeted marketing, and precision management of hotel inventory to maximize topline revenue and yield high net profits. Produce accurate revenue forecasts that help set hotel goals and outgrow the competition. Provide guidance and support sales and marketing initiatives that are targeted to meet the needs of the hotel. Display leadership qualities that mentor, develop, and guide hotel team members. Be an actively engaged team player embracing the hotels core values. Fill in for the Area Director of Revenue Management as necessary.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

  • Assist the Area Director of Revenue Management to oversee and guide the Strategy team to formulate Transient and Group inventory restrictions and pricing strategies towards the goal of increasing market share and maximizing revenues to exceed annual budget goals.

  • Ensure the hotel sales strategy and pricing recommendations are implemented across all channels, Hyatt revenue systems and market segments.

  • Assist with the revenue forecasting process for all hotels in the collection, practicing Hyatt Standards to ensure accuracy. This includes the Weekly 18-day, Monthly and Annual forecast as needed.

  • Assist with OTA management with but not limited to the implementation of any marketing campaigns. Familiarization of Hyatt standard use of OTA extranets.

  • Assist with developing, executing, and maintaining processes to achieve our Distribution goals for all hotels within the collection maximizing our positioning in Fornova.

  • Analyze results of strategies and tactics deployed on a monthly basis. Compile the data required for the proper analysis and compile appropriate reporting to assist the Area Director of Revenue Management with their analysis

  • Play a pivotal role in the hotels function space management, inclusive of completing the catering monthly forecast and annual budget with the collaboration of the Director of Sales and Director of Events.

  • Work closely with the Convention Services Team/Space Manager to ensure that hotel meeting space is properly utilized to maximize room and food and beverage revenue potential. Report findings to the Area Director of Revenue Management

  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of strategies for the business/leisure travel sales team during the annual RFP process based on demand projections and competitive shops. Partner with the Director of Transient Sales to ensure that hotel strategy is implemented on an account-by-account basis.

  • In partnership with Sales and Marketing leaders, actively participate in developing and implementing hotel SEO/SEM goals in conjunction with Field Marketing and Koddi Top-up. Focus the teams on tactics that produce the highest revenue and return on investment.

  • Assist with preparation of data required for the weekly Strategy meeting, and actively participate in the Strategic discussions. Ability to Gather, track, and interpret quality data for testing periods to present results to the Strategy team.

  • Attend Daily Business Review meetings and assist with analysis needed to make sound business decisions for each piece of business reviewed

  • Assist the Director of Revenue Management to effectively manage and maintain Hyatt revenue management systems including PRIO, Reserve, Opera, Envision, RMT, and 3 rd party applications such as Travelclick 360 products, OTA Insights, Fornova and Koddi Top-up in accordance with Hyatt Revenue Management Standards.

  • Coordinate with the front office team to maximize revenue from the following programs; Front Desk up-sell programs, and sell out management effectiveness. Report findings to the Area Director of Revenue Management.

  • Develop working relationships with managers in the Group Sales, Catering Sales, and Convention Service staff, providing consultation on strategies for booking optimal group and catering business

Education, Certification & Licenses:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred as Revenue Analyst in hotel revenue management organization.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred with Excel and related data management systems

Computer Skills:

  • Technically skilled in managing all systems related to Revenue Management. These include but are not limited to Hotel Industry Revenue Management Systems, Central Reservation Systems, Property Management Systems, Sales and Catering Systems,

  • Intermediate or Expert skill level in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications such as Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint and Outlook
