The Penthouse Assistant Manager works closely with the Penthouse Manger to create the standards for and lead theday-to-day operations of thePenthouse private ownership club area. Also,offers friendly, efficient registration and information to all owners, fellow associates, and visitors. In addition, provides sincere service through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy to guests and colleagues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Overseeing strategies forthePenthouse office and lobby including Concierge and Food and Beverage servicesthat support the achievement of the Resort’s goals.

  2. Assists in managing the operation of the Front Four and related areas.

  3. Assists with the Planned Time, Advance Space Available and Near Term reservation process for all Front Four Owners.

  4. Ensures a consistent, seamless luxurious guest arrival and departure experience.

  5. Works with the Penthouse Manager to ensure all policies and procedures are being followed correctly.

  6. Performs inventories, purchasing as assigned.

  7. Maximizes use of guest history information to ensure a high level of guest recognition and personalized service.

  8. Maintains a daily log of important information to share with the department.

  9. Plans and coordinates group arrivals and departures by working closely with Sales, Catering, Housekeeping and other departments.

  10. Plans and coordinates with Stowe Mountain Club and The Spa to ensure that all owners are correctly receiving their Club benefits.

  11. Orients employees to the department and resort and provides on-the-job training on job responsibilities.

  12. Provides feedback to the employee and department head on the employee’s performance of job responsibilities and performs regular job performance evaluations.

  13. Checks guests’ in, ensuring proper credit is received, special requests are noted / fulfilled and accurate information is established.

  14. Checks guests’ out, ensuring that each bill is accurate and proper payment is received.

  15. Communicates with all departments regarding in house and arriving VIP’s, and any special needs.

  16. Thoroughly completes all guest transactions.

  17. Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events.

  18. Maximizes revenue and cash flow by promoting resort services, special hotel programs, packages and upgrades when appropriate.

  19. Takes guest rooms reservations when needed and makes restaurant reservations as requested for internal and external guests.

  20. Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.

  21. Is knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and Resort policies.

  22. Follows set procedures on posting charges, cashing checks, safe deposits, and refunds.

  23. Solicits guest feedback via guest comment cards and acknowledges guest preferences for future visits.

  24. Answers the telephone in a professional manner and assist guests with any questions, directions to the property etc.

  25. Addresses all guest feedback with the utmost confidence, grace and concern for their satisfaction.

  26. Creates cost saving controls,ensures economical and safe use of supplies and equipment.

  27. Upholds all safety standards.

  28. Is able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.

  29. Is able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.

  30. Is able to stand/walk up to 6-8 hours per day.

  31. Is ateam playerandinteracts with all guests and fellow Associates in a positive and friendly manner.

Responsibilities, duties and the requirements for this position may change or increase at any time, with or without a change in title, benefits or salary. Like most other exempt jobs in the hospitality industry, this position requires a flexible schedule, possibly working in other departments, working holidays, weekends, events, and long hours as necessary.

Qualifications:

• College degree preferred.

• 2-3 years prior hotel or hospitality experience preferred.

• Experience in high volume establishments.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Technical proficiency (basic computer applications).

• Supervisory experience preferred.

• Attention to detail.

• Customer service experience.

• Strong organizational and time management discipline.

• Understanding of hospitality operating systems.

• Understanding of Rooms Division Departments.

• Solid judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.

• Operate effectively in stressful situations.

• Ability to multi-task.

• Ability to adapt to changing guest needs.
