About the Role – Front Desk Agent

The Front Desk agent is responsible for the guest registration process and communication of hotel services and promotions. This highly visible role gives opportunity for casual conversation and has a direct impact on creating the guest experience. Other duties may include processing forms of payment and responding to guest inquires. You'll be the face of Park Hyatt Toronto as a Front Desk Agent. If you have worked at other hotels as a front desk agent or you have passion for hospitality, we'd love to hear from you!


  • Greet guests upon arrival with a warm and sincere welcome

  • Perform all functions of guest registry including check in and check out, updating reservations and guest profiles to 100% accuracy, swift but correct room assignment while meeting luxury standards

  • Issue keys while ensuring utmost safety and confidentiality

  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of hotel information including, but not limited to, room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, the local area and other general product knowledge and answer guest questions and inquiries

  • Fully knowledgeable and promotes Hyatt loyalty program World of Hyatt

  • Use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities and to maximize room occupancy

  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner

  • Field guest complaints, conduct research and resolve and negotiate solutions for guest satisfaction

  • Receive, input, retrieve and relay messages to guest

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Previous experience in Front Office operations in a luxury setting an asset

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Strong guest service orientation, utilizing empathy and creative thinking

  • Knows how to multi-task while ensuring consistent and elevated guest experiences and accuracy

  • Must work well in stressful high pressure situations.

  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data

  • An operational knowledge of Front Office Systems and Microsoft Office products

  • This position requires to the ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
