Built in 1886 as a showpiece for Cattle Baron, Jesse Driskill, the Driskill is a legend in Texas hospitality. The hotel is known throughout Austin for its elite level of service and luxurious accommodations.
Working with the Executive Chef & Sous Chef, the Banquets Culinary Supervisor will be responsible for the successful planning, preparation and execution of all events. The Supervisor position requires a high level of cooking skill in local and international cuisine. Candidate must have flexible availability and must be available to work all Holidays and weekends as needed.
Duties include but are not limited to: * Leading and coaching the team towards achieving exceptional food quality, guest service and employee satisfaction results. * Monitoring food production, managing inventory, keeping a clean and organized work space. * Ensuring exceptional food safety in accordance with local and state health code. * Assuming department responsibilities in the absence of the Sous Chef. * Requires refined communication skills, exceptional food knowledge, strong leadership and relationship skills. * 5 years of previous kitchen experience preferred. * Requires Servsafe Certification and Austin Food Handlers Certification. * Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. * Must exhibit a positive attitude and have a passion for teamwork. * Previous supervisory experience a plus. * High volume experience a plus. * Must be passionate about food and service!
