Hyatt Assistant Front Office Manager in CHARLESTON, South Carolina

_SUMMARY:_/ /The Assistant Front Office Manager’s primary role is to ensure high quality service and support for the Front of House operation. The individual is responsible to assist colleagues and guests. The schedule will be varied and can include overnight shifts on occasion as necessary. The individual will be well versed in Front Office operations to assist the Agents with guest concerns and lead the Front Office Operation. The Assistant Front Office Manager will also act as a Manager on Duty on shifts as assigned. The Assistant Front Office Managerwill maintain the AAA Four Diamond standards.

*Essential job FUNCTIONS:** * * Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations * Must be able to perform all agent functions. * Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English and prepare complex reports of room availability and revenue generated. * Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. * Provide hands on support during peak business times. * Must be able to effectively deal with internal & external guests, some of whom will require levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect factual information and resolve conflict. * Completes a daily MOD Report to communicate guest opportunities and other information * Completes accident/incident reports as necessary * Assist in projects and other duties as directed by the Director of Front Office and Director of Operations. * Instill a guest service attitude in all colleague s. * Instill a "can-do" attitude in colleagues. * Coach colleagues how to resolve and de-escalate conflicts. * Supervises the performance, attendance, attitudes, appearance and conduct of team * Manages timely completion of performance appraisals * Monitors time punches in Timesaver, ensuring accurate payroll for all colleagues * Instill a calm, organized approach in all situations. * Assists in welcoming and escorting VIP’s and other guests * Coordinate schedules, payroll and expenses to meet or fall below budget. * Participates in property initiatives. * Ensure that guest data and management reporting is processed efficiently and accurately while maintaining proper security standards. * Ensure that all accounting transaction and cash handling procedures are in compliance. * Relive front office departments for breaks/lunches. * Pro actively identify potential guest issues. * Maintain a superior level of professionalism. * Respond to any reasonable request made by the Director of Front Office. * Be able to comply with house policies and procedures. * Be a member of the Emergency Response Team. * Attend all management training as requested by Division Head or Human Resources. * Recruit, hire, train and retain colleague s for all supervised departments. * Conduct walk-throughs of the property at a minimum of twice per day. * Develop monthly training items to foster development and cross training with other departments. * Monitors guest satisfaction processes, and responds to guest concerns, and inquiries.

_Job REQUIRMENTS:_ * Must be authorized to work in the United States * Must have valid driver’s license and meet company driving standards * Must be able to read, write and speak English * Must be at least 21 years of age * Must have excellent leadership skills * Must be a positive example for staff * Must be able to work well under pressure * Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written * Must be highly detailed orientated * Must have excellent computer skills * Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs * Must be able to work in a fast paced environment * Must have excellent listening skills * Must possesses excellent communication skills * Must be professional in appearance and demeanor * Must always ensure a teamwork environment * Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays * Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and colleagues * Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner * Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
