Hyatt Consumer Insights & Strategy Manager in CHICAGO, Illinois


The Manager, Consumer Insights will lead the consumer learning agenda to develop growth strategies and provide insight leadership for Hyatt brands. He/she will work collaboratively with Commercial Services (World of Hyatt, Brands, Sales, Revenue Management, Digital, Global Contact Center, Innovation) and Global/Regional Operations as a strategic insight partner to ensure that all decisions are grounded in consumer understanding to improve the Guest Experience. This individual will report into the Director, Consumer Insights.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate holistic thinking, strategic agility, and leadership with all levels of the organization as strategic insight partner
  • Lead and frame consumer learning agendas to address business objectives
  • Collect, analyze and synthesize consumer learning to tell a cohesive and actionable story
  • Lead, design, execute, and synthesize primary research, and source syndicated and secondary data when relevant
  • Provide Consumer Insight leadership with cross-functional teams, working in partnership with Marketing, Operations, Sales, Finance, agency partners, and consultants to improve the Guest Experience
  • Partner with and manage external suppliers to execute research projects efficiently
  • Effectively manage consumer insights agenda to proactively address both immediate and forward-looking strategic needs
  • Communicate consumer insights in a clear and concise manner, both through written and verbal communication – sharing both what is learned and what recommendations the team/business should pursue
  • Demonstrate leadership in ambiguous situations
  • Develop and enhance Consumer Insights standards and procedures for use company-wide and elevate core competencies and comfort levels with consumer insight application



  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Psychology, Marketing Research or related field required. Masters Degree preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience, preferably on client-side or combination of supplier-side and client-side experience, industry experience is preferred
  • Previous experience leveraging consumer insights to drive business results
  • Experience with developing objective point-of-view, be seen as strategic thought leader on team, and build constructive rapport with internal clients and outside research suppliers
  • Planning and project management experience
  • Experience with marketing and market research fundamentals including experimental design
  • Prefer experience devising effective solutions in unstructured situations
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
