Hyatt Coordinator, Global Corporate Communications in CHICAGO, Illinois

Description:
Serve as a critical member of the Global Corporate Communications team by providing support across a wide range of internal and external communications activities. Drive internal engagement and external awareness of Hyatt’s purpose – we care for people so they can be their best – by supporting creative, on-strategy storytelling across multiple channels including media relations, executive visibility, social media, web video and intranet. Ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to collaborate across functions and regions. The role will require a strong foundation in writing, research, networking and project management. Key responsibilities will include conducting media relations, developing media materials including press releases and key messages, editing daily news reports for Hyatt executives, developing executive briefing documents, storymining for internal and external stories, managing company newsroom, leading measurement reports and managing team budget. * Drive on-strategy storytelling across external media relations, company intranet and other channels, in partnership PR agency and relevant internal stakeholder * Support the Stories of Care series to showcase Hyatt’s purpose and values in inspiring, emotional formats; input includes storymining, pre- and post-production and distribution strategy * Manage the Daily News Brief including primary review for accuracy and positioning and serve as primary point of contact with Bulleting Intelligence partner. * Act as a liason between Global Corporate Communications and Social; experiment with new storytelling formats, facilitate cross-channel integration and strengthen measurement of communications efforts in alignment with business goals * Monitor and surface industry and consumer trends to fuel Hyatt’s storytelling efforts via corporate media relations and executive visibility * Serve as the primary point of contact for Global Communications team resources, including media monitoring and measurement tools (Bulletin Intelligence, Meltwater, newsroom, BusinessWire) * Work in close collaboration across a variety of projects with multiple internal teams, including legal, sustainability, global security, human resources, investor relations, social, etc. * Manage global communications team budget and corporate communications agency budget, partnering with finance to track and forecast monthly spending * Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Qualifications:
Experience * 1-2 years of experience, PR agency or in-house corporate communications experience * Strong media relations experience and interest * Experience in creative storytelling across a variety of formats and channelsDetail-oriented project manager Education * Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing or communications Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job * Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs Additional Comments and Requirements * Interest in the hospitality and travel industry * Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple internal clients, meet deadlines, and be flexible to accommodate urgent projects * Excellent writing, editing and verbal skills * Passionate storyteller with intrinsic creativity * Strong project management skills; experience with monitoring and budgeting preferred * Excellent networking and relationship-building skills and the ability to act with confidence in dealing with various levels, functions and regions * Global-minded and able to understand and adapt to cultural nuances
