Hyatt Director of Brand Experience (West) – Lifestyle Operations in CHICAGO, Illinois

Summary The Director of Brand Experience (West) will directly oversee all new Hotel and Restaurant, Openings, all Hotel and Restaurant Transitions as well as all exiting hotels of Hyatt Lifestyle brands within the western half of the Americas Region. This individual will coordinate all pre-opening operation activities to include, but not limited to all pre-opening check lists: General Manager's, Finance, Sales, Marketing and Distribution, IT, Restaurant, Bars, Nightlife & Events, Human Resources and Engineering. Position acts as main point of contact to Ownership on behalf of the management company and pre-opening team. This position requires 90% of Travel and out of office work to all projects.

Responsibilities Hotel Opening Operations: * Direct Hotel General Manager and transition team through opening date * Creation and Coordination of New Hotel Critical Path and strategy to execute a successful operation * Creation and implementation of opening checklists, direct communication from company to ownership regarding milestones, responsible for setting property up for operational success * Creation and implementation of multi week Property Training Matrix including system training, culture training and live/practical training * Direct and coordinate Openings and Transitions team to follow brand standards and programing as set by Brand Atelier * Audit and implement all brand standards related to each of the Hyatt Lifestyle brands to ensure that they are kept to the expected guidelines with all Openings. * Direct Hotel General Manager and transition team through transition date. * Creating and implementing opening Training Schedule and managing Logistics * Present and teach applicable service and brand essentials as well as facilitate Hyatt orientation while acting as a brand ambassador * Coordinate clear transfer of operation to the Hotel General Manager Liaison to Hotel Ownership, Design Services, Finance and other departments: * Serve as main point of contact to Ownership on behalf of the management company * Assist Design Department with execution of Model Room reviews * Assist Technical Services/Design Department with all back of house programming * Creating, managing and presenting Pre-Opening Budgets Real Estate and Business Development: * Site visit for Due Diligence process * Coordinate Due Diligence report for all disciplines * Review license agreements to insure proper documents for Transitions. * Coordinate Permits and Licenses Transfer applications with Ownership and legal * Create and Lead Transition checklist for all disciplines * Creating, Managing and presenting Transition Budgets Planning and Management of Openings and Transitions operation: * Execute weekly meetings with company leaders to complete projects that help make Openings and Transitions more streamlined and productive * Assist in Operating Supplies & Equipment needs and creating of budget * Creating and implementing brand standards across the portfolio for both new and existing hotels. * Creating labor Models and Hiring timelines for each property * Assist in creating the Action Plan for onboarding new GM’s and being point person for onboarding

Experience * At least 2 years hotel management experience as hotel General Manager or similar * Prior Hotel management experience in both urban and resort locations * Prior experience in Lifestyle Hotel environment * Experience with multiple hotel/restaurant openings and transitions Education * Minimum level of education is high school diploma. Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management preferred. Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job * Efficient with computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Additional Comments and Requirements * Must be able to travel extensively, up to 90% of the time * Must be able to be on-site at project location for extended period of time if needed * Self-Leader who is highly motivated and flexible, possessing the ability to take initiative, to succeed while under pressure and meet deadlines Strong leadership skills * Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously * Good one on one and group training skills * Confident decision-making skills
