Hyatt Global Head of Digital Product Design, User Experience in CHICAGO, Illinois
The Head of UX Design will create an organizational digital vision and strategy, and direct and guide the creation of a multi-disciplinary and multi-tier UX team. Will oversee the design, development and evolution of digital solutions across a variety of digital platforms and evangelize flagship products with internal and external stakeholders. Will be involved from ideation to solution delivery and evolution to match customer and business needs, ensuring usability and consistency across all digital touch points.
*Responsibilities * * Design the UX architecture, interface, and interaction flow of new and existing digital platforms. Develop conceptual diagrams, process flows, wireframes, sitemaps, user scenarios, and prototypes to communicate the information architecture, high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors across various platforms. * Lead a multi-disciplinary UX team through each stage of the design process including strategy, research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and product evolution by overseeing deliverables to ensure quality standards, international needs, consistency of brand experience, and business and user goals are met across all digital touch points * Lead collaboration & integration of UX team with business and technology working teams, and evangelize design processes and customer-centricity amongst working teams and throughout the organization as a strategic tool Identify and document UX standards, best practices, and processes to aid with cross-team communication, internationalization standards, collaboration and development (design system, research templates, tool selection etc.) to ensure consistent design solutions, methodologies, smooth processes, and implementation * Develop personas, user scenarios, experience maps and other artifacts to create the global user experience strategy across digital solutions (e.g., mobile apps, responsive website, property and brand sites), ensuring the UX strategy and execution align with customer needs, brand positioning, and business requirements * Facilitate ideation and alignment sessions by collaborating with executives, leaders, and stakeholders across business units (e.g., Brand, Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, World of Hyatt, Innovation, Content, Guest Insights, Digital Analytics, IT) to define project requirements that align business, guest, and technical needs * Participate in user research, acceptance testing and interviews with target audiences; identify opportunities and user needs/preferences and collect feedback * Interpret requirements documentation to drive exceptional user interfaces, balancing an innovative guest experience with core business objectives and technical platform considerations * Balance business and product requirements by considering market analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings in all design activities * Collaborate with developers to ensure quality of design execution and to identify alternatives when scope or technical implementation challenges arise * Collaborate with the web analytics team to determine post-launch success metrics; Leverage metrics, user research, qualitative and quantitative data to inform product experience strategy and validate design decisions, communicate this information to product teams and stakeholders to inform individual product roadmaps and use the data to suggest improvements. * Attract, recruit, and retain a strong, diverse talent pool of user researchers, interaction designers, managers, and visual designers while planning the growth and strategy of the UX team, carrying out the vision for the group by evangelizing UX and the way it’s integrated within the company * Coach the UX team on delivering high quality work on time, through Agile and Lean UX methodologies while developing skills such as collaboration, presentation, strategy, facilitation, and leadership for direct reports as well as their team * Manage resourcing for projects to align with business and allocation needs as well as individual growth goals * Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values * The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing.
