Hyatt Line Cook II - Cindy%27s in CHICAGO, Illinois


The Line Cook II position will plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in Cindy’s, our rooftop restaurant and bar. Line Cooks prepared menu items in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications in partnership with the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chefs. Both lunch/daytime as well as evening shifts available.

Previously home to an elite athletic and social club, one of Chicago’s most beloved landmarks from the 1890’s is reborn as a bustling hotel playground, featuring a variety of iconic and unique restaurant and nightlife destinations, all in the heart of downtown. More than a restoration, Chicago Athletic Association is a revelation of historic architectural detail, from the grand marble staircases to the incomparable Cindy’s Rooftop, showcasing creative food and drink with unmatched views across Millennium Park and Lake Michigan.

Essential Responsibilities include: * Perform the shift duties associated with one or more stations for meal service, including garde manger, pantry, sauté, grill, etc. * Follow standardized recipes and ensure consistent preparation according to guest specifications * Participate in cleaning of kitchen areas and equipment and inspire others to do the same * Assist with proper storage, preparation, cooking and presentation of all food items * Assist with food preparation in advance of food service hours * Follow all safety guidelines include safe-handling of food items, knife safety, safe usage of kitchen equipment, etc.

* High school diploma or equivalent required. Culinary training/education preferred. * Food Handler's certification required. * Must be able to move throughout crowded kitchen areas. * Must be able to follow standardized recipes according to proper cooking technique and safety. * Minimum one year prior experience as line cook in fast-paced kitchen environment required. * Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 500 lbs on occasion; must be able to push/pull cart of up to 50 lbs. * Must be able to multi-task and display ability to recognize that the guests’ interests and needs are always primary. * Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as business dictates. Lunch/Daytime position hours are 8:00am-5:00pm; Dinner/Evening position hours are 2:00pm-11:00pm.
