This sales powerhouse contributes significantly to the properties success by generating qualified leads and converting them to sales with a heavy concentration in social group segments (i.e. wedding room blocks, High School/Family Reunions, Religious, Military and corporate group segments that include: legal, real estate, multi-level marketing, sports and more. This position will be responsible for soliciting and contracting business, keeping with Hotel Derek’s independent and innovative spirit. Essential Functions * Oversee the assigned group segment, to include: proactive outbound and inbound sales opportunities, qualify business to ensure time is well spent, be creative in preparing standout, highly customized proposals, facilitate dynamic site inspections, client tastings, contract negotiation and liaising with convention services on group needs.
* Act as a liaison between the sales and operations department. Work closely with operational leaders to ensure flawless overnight and event experiences for guests. * Possess the ability to multi-task in a high-energy, fast-paced environment to ensure revenue goals are achieved and interdepartmental communication flows timely and with high accuracy. * Lead and mentor sales coordinators and peers * Assist in identifying market trends, creating sales and marketing campaigns to shift business and reach budgeted revenue goals.

· Extraordinary networking and client relation skills and good knowledge of the assigned market. · Extensive knowledge of Food & Beverage trends, guest relations, and 4-star service standards · Must have computer skills and exceptional verbal and written communication · Must be well organized, have strong attention to detail, the ability to direct others and lead by example · Sales oriented and exceptional interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction · Four (4) year degree or equivalent of education and experience · Previous group sales, EEM role or F & B catering event management experience, preferably in a lifestyle or upscale hotel/resort.
