Summary: The Sandbar Bartender willprovide exceptional customer service in serving and pouring drinks.S/he will ensure legal age limits for all alcohol consumption.The Bartender assists in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond Standards.

The Sandbar Bartender shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Essential job Functions:

  • Maintainsa commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction

  • Mixesingredients to prepare cocktails and other beverages according to recipe

  • Maintainscleanliness of walk-ins and reach-ins

  • Adheresto all Wild Dunes Resort policies

  • Ensurescleanliness of bar and glassware

  • Takesfood and beverages orders, using POS system to ring items in

  • Ensuresopening, ongoing and closing side work is complete and signed off by amanager on duty

  • Countsmoney in cash drawers at end of shift to ensure the amounts are correctand there is adequate change

  • Ensuresend of shift bank is balanced with appropriate procedures followed indaily drop

  • Obtainscredit cards to begin tabs

  • Mustensure bookkeeping and proper payment is received

  • Maintainsseason liquor, beer and wine pars

  • Responsiblefor daily requisition completion

  • Properlyreports tips and hours at the end of each shift using the proper documentsfor recording

  • Ensuressupplies/ingredients are properly stocked before, during and after shift

  • Checksidentification to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase/consumption

  • Offersmenu advise and suggestions to guests

  • Assiststhe restaurant team as needed

  • Maintainsa strong knowledge of beverage trends

  • Attendsmonthly mandatory department meeting and appropriate resort and divisionmeetings

  • Resolvesguest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness

  • Providesgeneral resort information for guests

  • Offerswarm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Wild Dunes Resortincluding use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest

  • Maintainsan up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as anyspecial events

  • Interactswith resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departmentswith necessary information

  • Up sellsother resort services and amenities to guests

  • Alwaysmaintains a professional demeanor and attitude

  • Communicatesall pertinent information to the restaurant team

  • Maintainsconstant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electricalcords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safetyincidents to on-duty supervisor.

  • Ensuresproper handling, cleaning and sanitation of equipment, china, glass andsilver.

  • Followsthrough on lost and found procedures. No articles shall be removed fromoccupied rooms. Absolute respect for guest property should always beexercised.

  • Maintainsa professional appearance. Follows all Wild Dunes Resort dress codestandards

  • Remainsalert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all time

Colleague is held accountable for all duties of this job and otherduties as assigned.


Experience & Education:

  • Highschool education required

  • Priorhospitality experience preferred

  • At leastsix months food & beverage experience preferred

  • At leastone-year customer service experience preferred

  • Sixmonths POS system experience preferred

  • Previous bartending experience

  • Springer Miller experience preferred

Job Requirements:

  • Must bea United States citizen or possess a valid work permit

  • Must beable to read, write and speak English

  • Must beat least 21 years of age

  • Must beable to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written

  • Mustpossesses excellent communication skills

  • Must beprofessional in appearance and demeanor

  • Must beable to work under pressure

  • Must beable to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Musthave excellent listening skills

  • Mustalways ensure a teamwork environment

  • Abilityto work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends andholidays

  • Musthave a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.

Working Conditions:

  • Must beable to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, sun, heat)

  • Must beable to climb into and out of cart on a frequent basis

  • Must beable to lift & carry up to 30 lbs on an occasional, repetitive basis

  • Must beable to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, overhead reaching, andrepetitive hand & arm movements frequently; and squeezing occasionally
