The Overnight Watchman is responsible for ensuring the safety of guests and colleagues in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
Patrolthe interior of and the perimeter of the hotel and the property to observeand identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.
Respondto emergency situations such as safety hazards, fires, medical emergenciesand threats to life and/or property.
Promotesafe work practices.
Initiatespreliminary investigations into incidents.
Writesreports and ensures accuracy of necessary documentation.
Respondsto guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest issues in a timely,friendly and efficient manner.
Generalguest requests, general cleaning and maintenance, and room serviceresponsibilities.
Assistwith flow of traffic.
Othertasks as assigned by the Director of Rooms, General Manager and Manager onDuty.
- High schooldiploma or GED equivalency preferred.
- Previousexperience preferred.
Abilityto follow all safety procedures/standards and be able to recognize and act inemergency situations.
Abilityto be under and follow directions, and perform job functions with limitedsupervision.
Abilityto effectively deal with customers’ complaints and concerns in a friendly andpositive manner. This involves listeningto the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the guests, andproviding positive and proactive solutions.
Availabilityto work various shifts to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Abilityto work a full shift (8 hours) walking and standing.
Flexibilityto respond to a variety of different work situations.
Abilityto work alone and as part of a team.
