The role of the Area MICE Sales Manager involves servicing an existing account base whilst demonstrating initiative to drive new business opportunities. The role requires working closely with the sales teams at each of the UK hotels.The general aim is to achieve pre-defined revenues for all UK hotels, impacting rooms (groups), catering and event sales from a portfolio of accounts within the UK MICE market.

Moreover, the Area MICE Sales Manager:

  • Responds to all external customer requests on a timely basis with accurate responses

  • Responds to all internal deadlines on a timely basis

  • Meets deadlines set by Area Director of Sales and Marketing

  • Attends Yield Meetings at all hotels on a monthly basis

  • Produces quality reports when requested

  • Able to determine the exact requirements of a customer’s needs and is then able to respond with bespoke solutions

  • Represents Hyatt at any Trade Shows, Meetings or Events where necessary and act in a professional manner all times.

  • Meets all requirements of internal hotel systems, with a primary focus on Envision

  • To meet all targeted financial results through active business planning

  • Manages accounts in order to impact all revenue streams including; rooms (groups), events and catering

  • Portrays a results driven attitude at all times and shows determination to win business

  • Assists colleagues, particularly in Groups and Events to successfully confirm key pieces of business which impact total hotel revenues

  • Ensures that results are communicated through a monthly Sales Report

  • Forms a close bond with key departments in all hotels relevant to the MICE role, specifically, Reservations, Groups and Events

  • Conforms to and supports the hotel strategies at all times as defined by the on-property Revenue Manager, Area Director of Sales & Marketing and General Manager

  • Participates in general Sales and Marketing team activities

  • Work closely with the Area MICE Sales Executive to achieve overall MICE team results

  • Completes the weekly Snapshot communicating customer appointments to the hotel Executive Committee and colleagues within Sales and Marketing

  • Ensures that Envision is updated with notes from each customer appointment and that follow up actions are entered

  • Regularly communicates market information obtained through Sales and Marketing meetings and the weekly activity report from Envision

  • Inputs general market activities in to the departmental Sales Action Plan

  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to account management recorded through activities logged in both PBP’s (Personal Business Plans) and Envision

  • Executes timely promotions to the MICE market by building knowledge of booking patterns and external factors influencing the segment

  • Effectively measures results from promotions and actions and adapts future plans where necessary

  • Conducts any Sales trips in accordance with the UK Hotels Sales and Marketing budget, acting in a professional manner and completing a report within 14 days of returning to be presented to the on property General Managers and the Area Director of Sales and Marketing for review

  • Ensures that any contractual rates agreed are communicated to customers within brand standards and that signed agreements are received

  • Ensures that the department’s operational budget is strictly adhered to, that all costs are controlled and expenditures are properly approved

  • Maximises colleague productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling in order to meet the financial goals of the Department as well as the expectations of all people we serve
