Hyatt Beach and Pool Attendant in MAUI, Hawaii

The /Beach and Pool Attendant /is a key member of theKa'anapali Ali'iteam who provides guest service, retail sales, beach and pool area maintenance, a safe and fun environment, and servicing the poolside and beach needs of our owners and guests.


Pool Area * Makes sure that all lounge chairs are clean and organized daily.

  • Ensures that all used towels are removed from the pool area.

  • Ensures that the pool area is free of litter and is kept looking inviting.

  • Provides instruction on and enforces safety rules as necessary in the pool and spa area.

  • Polishes and maintains all stainless steel hand railings and showers.

Beach Area * Set-up cabanas on the beach.

  • Assists guests and owners with chairs.

  • Throughout the day, comb the beach for trash and debris.

  • Make sure that chairs and used towels are removed from the beach as needed.

  • Ensure that the beach area is clean and in order at the end of each day.

  • Ensures that both beach showers are clean and drains are kept clear.

  • Shovel sand as needed to keep drop-off from the Kaanapali Alii property to beach from becoming too severe.

  • Monitors the beach for unsafe conditions and reports them to Security.

Beach Activities Center and Retail Sales * Sell sunscreen, sunglasses and other retail items.

  • Checks out towels to guests and owners. Informs guests and owners of pool towel policies.

  • Register cabanas to guests and owners. Ensure accuracy with the daily inventory of cabanas.

  • Maintains adequate stock of supplies.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the ice machine throughout the day and ensure adequate supply of drinking cups.

  • Prepare lemon water service, make coffee, clean and maintain both throughout the day.

The ideal candidate is a high school or college graduate with exceptional communication skills, a natural aptitude for guest service, a positive and upbeat attitude, and the ability to interact effectively and courteously with Owners, Guests, Vendors and other Employees. Candidates with retail sales and activity sales experience will be given preference.

The ideal candidate is also someone with the following skills and abilities. * Speak, read, and write legibly in the English language. * Available and willing to work 7 days a week from 7 am to 6 pm, including holidays. * Ability to stand for extended periods of time. * Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds. * Basic calculator and math skills. * Valid CPR and First Aid Training Certificates, or ability to obtain within 90 days, required. * Neat and professional appearance, a genuine Spirit of Aloha. and a desire to work with the public. * Possession of a valid driver’s license. * Access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated per requirements of all laws. /Note: First consideration will be given to qualified candidates who currently reside on the island of Maui./
