Grand Hyatt Melbourne is seeking an industry star to join our professional 5 star hotel event sales team.
This is a critical position within our Sales & Marketing Division, responsible forestablishing strong relationships and manage a portfolio of high yielding revenue accounts to maximize sales and loyalty for the hotel and identifying, winning and growing new business.You willwork with the Event Sales Team to maximize profitability and occupancy of the event spaces, ensuring financial targets are achieved with a focus on the strategies of "right business at the right time”. Day to Day
This exclusive position is a key contributor to the hotel's success. The Sales Manager - Events will work with clients from initial enquiry all the way through to contracting and works closely towards a successful handover to our Event Planning professionals. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this is not your typical Sales Manager - Events role as your primary responsibility will be winning and retaining business. We are seeking candidates who possess strong business ethics, advanced negotiation and contracting skills within the business events market segment, with a drive to confirming incoming enquiries coupled with exceptional communication skills. Being able to demonstrate previous experience with a luxury hotel environment and within the business events segment is essential. You will have a passion for customer service and enjoy working within a hotel sales office environment.
What we are looking for? * * Proficient in group and event sales conversion. * A genuine and notable drive to think outside the box and provide a consultative sales approach that is empathetic to our clients' needs as well as meeting business objectives. * A minimum of 2 years' experience in a hotel sales role or similar ideally within a 5 environment * Develop productive “customer focused” working relationships with clients. * Develop business from the corporate, leisure and business events sector as designated by the management team. * Demonstrated strength in business acumen and confidence in hotel /event yield management. * Exceptional ability to build rapport and develop creative solutions to suit dynamic client needs. * Excellent problem solving abilities, administrative skills and interpersonal skills. * Ability to build and establish key accounts, development and retention, focused on meeting individual and team targets. * Results driven, self-motivated and collaborative attitude. * Immaculate presentation and exemplary verbal and written communication skills. * A Degree/Diploma in Business/Hotel Management or equivalent industry experience. * Only candidates with ongoing, unrestricted working rights for Australia will be considered
