Grand Hyatt Melbourne is seeking an industry star to join our professional 5-star hotel Event Sales / Planning Team.
This is a critical position within our Sales and Marketing Division, focusing on maximising total revenue potential across weddings and social events
This exclusive position will be responsible for selling the hotel as a premium special events and wedding location and driving revenue to achieve set sales targets. This role works with guests from initial enquiry all the way through to contracting, and planning. As a customer service leader, you will be immaculately presented at all times and focused on delivering an exceptional experience. This role will include weekend work and most frequently will be a Tuesday to Saturday roster.
Day to Day * To sell successful weddings and social events * To maintain on-going relationships with clients for continuing account management. * To complete tasks pertaining to the overall operation of the department. * To sell, manage and coordinate business social and other corporate events as required. * Managing and coordinating, from initial enquiry to execution, successful weddings and social events * To liaise with wedding clients in order to coordinate all aspects of their program and ensure the best possible results, thereby achieving the department's objectives and targets as set out in the annual business plan. * To maximise revenue for food and beverage and up-sell at all opportunities to generate additional revenue. * To complete tasks pertaining to the overall operation of the department and Salesteam as directed by the DOS.
We are searching for someone to join our team with: * Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work within a team environment and communicates in a positive manner * Great organization skills matched with excellent attention to detail * A genuine and notable drive to think outside the box and provide a consultative sales approach that is empathetic to our clients' needs as well as meeting business objectives * Develop business from the weddings, leisure, social and corporate event sectors as designed by the management team * Comfortable in a competitive environment with evidence of personal ambition to improve * Exceptional ability to build rapport and develop creative solutions to suit dynamic client needs * Excellent problem solving abilities, administrative skills, and interpersonal skills * Immaculate presentation and communication skills * Positive and professional attitude * A Degree/Diploma in Business/Hotel Management or equivalent * A minimum of 3 years' experience in a hotel sales role or similar ideally within a 5-star environment * Should you not meet all the preferred criteria, the role of a Wedding and Events Sales Executive* position may be considered for the right upcoming sales professional Culture
