Hyatt Full-Time Guide in TUCSON, Arizona

Description:
The Recreation Attendant will be responsible for organizing activities for our guests. This person must have good communication skills and can work in a fast paced environment. Position involves facilitating High Ropes and Low Ropes elements, leading guests on hikes in the Sonoran Desert and Santa Catalina Mountains, leading guests on introductory to intermediate mountain bike rides, and facilitating climbing wall classes.

Qualifications:
Job requirements include but are not limited to: general knowledge of High and Low Ropes Course Elements, ability to carry and climb 12‘ ladders and transition to climb poles upwards of 50ft and be comfortable traversing cables of 35-50’ in height and length. Must be able to walk, stand, and belay for extended periods and do so on average 4-6 hours/day several days per week. Must be technically proficient with ropes, helmets, harnesses, hardware, and several belay techniques. General knowledge of Santa Catalina trails, Sonoran Desert wildlife and vegetation preferred. Capable of hiking 2-3 hr (3-5miles) followed by 2 hr technical mountain bike ride (3-15miles). Must be able to hike 7-12 miles, with 1000 – 3000’ elevation gain.

3 plus years of outdoor adventure facilitation/guiding experience preferred. Wilderness First Responder Cert., CPR Cert. required, Technical Rock Climbing Cert. (AMGA and/or PCIA) preferred.

Must be able to work Thursday through Monday (e.g., weekend days). Full time in this position is considered 32 hours, 40 is not guaranteed.
