Hyatt Housekeeping Manager in TUCSON, Arizona

Description:
The Housekeeping Manager will monitor the daily activities of Room Attendants, House Attendants, Public Space Attendant and general cleaners within designated area. Ensure employees within scope of responsibility follow all hotel and departmental policies and procedures. Maintain quality cleanliness standards as established, for the guestrooms and guest areas and in employee areas.

Essential Functions: * Make daily charts for each room attendants and ensure completion by 7:55am. * Inspect guest rooms to monitor the performance of room attendants, house attendants and general cleaners. * Ensure a complete walk thru of property by 9:00 correcting and assigning any deficits * Inspect all V.I.P., and Suite rooms ensuring they are prepared in a timely manner and according to established guidelines. * Inspect outside patios of guest rooms and villages. * Monitor the Laundry output, production and communciate with Spa and F&B for needs * Ensure Guests Laundry is picked up and delivered within guidlines * Ensure that the house attendants are doing their checklist for the day. * Inspect linen closets to ensure that each is well stocked and well maintained. * Monitor privacy please signs and refused service rooms and leave guests notices per protocols. * To report all maintenance deficiencies as well as any room requiring special housekeeping attention immediately. * To oversee special cleaning projects within area of responsibility. * Ability to prepare weekly work schedule * Ability to coach, mentor and provide training for all housekeeping staff. * To assist and perform any other duties designated by Supervisor. * *

Good communication skills, well organized and detailed oriented.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous hotel/resort or other related experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
