Provides a courteous and professional service at all times.
Handles guest and employee enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst providing a prompt follow-up.
Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
Directs subordinates to ensure productivity meets standards given in accordance with Hyatt Design Standards and Criteria and the Hyatt International Divisional Operations Manual.
Focus attention on improving productivity levels and the need to prudently manage utility/payroll costs within acceptable guidelines ensuring optimum deployment and energy efficiency of all equipment.
Ensure new technology and equipment are embraced, improving productivity whilst taking work out of the system.
Execute the Repair, Maintenance and Engineering Operations according to the departmental standards.
Properly handles and maintains all power tools.
Assists other tradespersons or technicians when requested by Departmental Management.
Avoids unsightly hazards, obtains and complies with hotel safety requirements,and complies with all local regulations and codes.
Ensures cleanliness of all work areas and protects the surroundings when executing duties.
Performs repairs and maintenance works and engineering operations to meet customers’ expectations.
Ensure energy conservation measures are in place.
Ensure fire, life and safety systems are operational.
Ensures a strong communication link is maintained between the Maintenance programmers and yourself, providing feedback and comments on work performance, ways to improve procedures etc.
Ensures that Departmental Management is kept abreast of all problems, occurrences and challenges that my cause interference, lack of performance, unsightly activities etc.
Performs emergency procedures relating to fire, life and safety; e.g., such as attending to fire alarms, lift rescue.
Ensure timely completion of work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
Ensure effective service recovery pertaining to guests’ feedback.
Supports the implementation of The People Philosophy, demonstrating and reinforcing Hyatt’s Values and Culture Characteristics.
Is knowledgeable in statutory legislation in employee and industrial relations.
Exercises responsible management and behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel management team and Hyatt International.
Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
Responds to changes in the Engineering function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
Reads the hotel's Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
Lead the staffs finish department works and work efficiently, always remember work safety regulations, and complies with department rules and regulations.
Attends training sessions and meetings as and when required.
Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
All staffs are subject to the reasonable department work arrangements, and work in coordination, help and learn from each other, mutual respect and harmonious coexistence, efforts to achieve department goals.
